Biography

Randy Ray has worked as a freelance publicist for five years, helping line up interviews and other events for a variety of clients, including authors, charitable organizations and a variety of businesses. He developed an aptitude for the publicity game while helping line up interviews across Canada for books he has co-written and while selling his ideas as a freelance writer.

He has lined up more than 500 interviews for his books and hundreds of interviews for his clients. (see Media Placements)

Randy worked as a reporter for the London Free Press in London, Ont. for 13 years, including three years as the paper's Parliament Hill correspondent. Since leaving the newspaper to work as a freelance writer, he has co-written nine books about Canada and contributed to five others, handled media relations for a variety of clients and worked as a publicist. He is a member of Ottawa Independent Writers (OIW), a 160-member organization that represents the interests of authors, publishers, freelance writers and illustrators. He is OIW's director of publicity.

He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Applied Journalism Degree from Ryerson University in Toronto. He lives in Ottawa, Ontario with his wife Janis.
